Lympstone Mansion

Where is it: Courtlands Lane, Exmouth, EX8 3NZ

Lympstone Manor’s Michelin-starred restaurant offers fine dining in the heart of Devon.

With dining rooms located in a historic Grade II listed Georgian mansion, one of Britain’s most famous and influential chefs – Michael Caines – offers a range of eclectic and timeless European cuisine.

Do this while using local, seasonal produce and pairing each dish with selected wines from a global cellar that holds over 600 bins.

In addition to being able to spend the night in one of the mansion’s luxurious bedrooms, guests / visitors can enjoy a lunch (served between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday), which includes a choice of main lunch. menu, Michael’s Signature eight-course menu or four-course lunch.

Afterwards, dinner is served between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and between 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday, where you can enjoy the “Goût de l’Estuaire” menu, an à la carte menu or a signature eight-course menu. .

The Elephant restaurant in Torquay

Where is it: 3 & 4 Beacon Terrace, Torquay, Devon, TQ1 2BH

This bright, informal seaside restaurant is located next to Torquay Harbor and is known to be the first (and only) restaurant in Torquay to receive a Michelin star, which it has held for around 16 years.

Run by chef owner Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy, The Elephant aims to source ingredients locally and sustainably, with a dedicated farm in Brixham.

The restaurant sometimes hosts guest chef events and will regularly change their menu to give people something fresh to try.

The Elephant even offers take-out and a variety of menus including a la carte, set lunch, tasting menu, wine list and even options for New Years Eve 2021.

The masons’ weapons

Where is it: Knowstone, South Molton, Devon, EX36 4RY

This idyllic 13th century thatched-roof inn and award-winning restaurant is the proud holder of a Michelin star and prides itself on using local produce, with real ale and champagne, as well as a wine list for all tastes.

The dog-friendly pub has its own fireplace, low beams and a cozy interior, with a seating area for guests to enjoy an aperitif before taking a seat in the back dining room, which is adorned with a Heavenly ceiling fresco and a view across the hills towards Exmoor.

For lunch (between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.), The Masons offers a choice of an à la carte menu, a three-course menu for £ 29.50 or a two-course menu for £ 25.50.

And then, at dinner, you can choose from Chef Mark’s à la carte menu, served between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Gidleigh Park is located on the upper reaches of the River Teign on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and is part of the AA Hotel Group of the Year 2017-2018.

It’s famous for its culinary credentials and award-winning restaurant, with the Tudor-style country house set on 107 acres of land.

The restaurant is located in the heart of the hotel and even has an internationally renowned wine cellar which accommodates more than 1,300 bins and 13,000 bottles from all over the world.

Here you can dine on the dishes from the lunch menu, as well as dinner, afternoon tea, and even baskets, all using the best seasonal ingredients.

Thomas Carr 1873

Where is it: 63, rue Fore, Ilfracombe, EX34 9ED

Thomas Carr 1873 is located in the old Victorian Ilfracombe Police Station and was awarded a Michelin Star for 2021.

Located a stone’s throw from the working port of Ilfracombe, local fish is often used as a staple in the restaurant’s ever-changing six-course tasting menu.

This relaxed and intimate dining space is brought to you by the same team that helped Thomas (who was born and raised in Woolacombe and Ilfracombe) earn a Michelin Star at his first business, Thomas Carr at The Olive Room, a short walk away of the.
