French wine bar Westlake Wine Bar opens in Austin
A new wine bar and restaurant, the Westlake Wine Bar, is opening in Davenport Village, by one of the former owners of Paris in a Bite. The Westlake Wine Bar opened at 3801 North Capital of Texas Highway in the Davenport Village Mall on September 18 for reservations only.
The Westlake Wine Bar will serve a meat-rich menu, with dishes like beef bourguignon, tartare, steaks, fish and burgers as well as lighter sea bass dishes. The massive wine list, which includes 150 wines, is European, with two-thirds of the menu coming from France and Italy, and one-third from elsewhere. The menu comes from executive chef Kyle Dahl, who worked at Minneapolis’ essential sushi restaurant, Masu, while the wine comes from Italian sommelier Giuseppe Paternoster.
The owner of Westlake Wine Bar is Pierre Leitgib, who previously owned the French boutique and café Paris in a Bite, which opened in Davenport Village in 2018. However, Paris in a Bite was sold after his divorce and has been closed since. June.
The bar has taken over the old space of the All Star Burger, closed in 2019.
The Westlake Wine Bar will be open daily for lunch and dinner, with dining inside and on the terrace.
