The largest cruise ship in the world arrives in Spain for the first European summer cruises

The world’s largest cruise ship has arrived in Barcelona ahead of its first European crossings.
Royal Caribbean wonder of the seas will begin seven-night cruises departing from the Catalan capital and Rome from Sunday.
The mega-ship will call at several popular destinations in the Mediterranean, including Florence, Naples and Capri in Italy, Provence in France and Malaga in Spain.
Over 18 decks tall, the Oasis-class vessel is 362 meters long and weighs over 237,000 gross tons. It has a capacity of 6,988 guests and 2,300 crew members.
Having taken more than three years to build, the colossal cruise liner has eight neighborhoods on board, including Central Park, where travelers will find more than 20,000 real trees and plants stretching from one end of the deck to the other.
Families looking for an extravagant European cruise experience can book the Ultimate Family Suite, which sleeps up to 10 people and features a waterslide, cinema and karaoke area, ping- pong and much more, spread over two levels.
The boardwalk offers seaside charm and family-friendly activities including a ride on a hand-carved carousel, while guests can also dine and drink at more than 40 onboard restaurants, bars and lounges.
Travelers can also enjoy some Royal Caribbean favorites found on many of its cruise ships, including a FlowRider surf simulator, a 10-story zipline and the tallest waterslide at sea.

Summer entertainment on Wonder’s four stages will see more than 100 artists and technicians bring large-scale productions to life, including intensewhich features the first all-female cast of acrobats, high divers and offshore slackliners.
Having made her maiden voyage in March, from Florida to the Caribbean, wonder of the seas will sail in Europe until October.

In November, she will sail the United States again to what will be her new year-round home in Florida. From there, the ship will embark on cruises to discover the Caribbean and the Bahamas.
Including wonder of the seasRoyal Caribbean now operates the five largest cruise ships in the world, as well as nine of the 20 largest cruise ships in the world.
